In the beginning…
Wines used to be either really complex and expensive, or cheap and nasty. It was all about how much you could afford. It was hard to learn what makes a good wine and how to drink it without being a total pretentious snob.
But it isn’t like that anymore. The devoted makers of Twill & Daisy understand that there are people just like you who love wine, want spirited memories and look for a really delicious product without having to spend a fortune.
One evening, sitting under the perfumed jasmine looking over the sun warmed grapevines, a clever crew of freedom seekers didn’t want the magic of the moment to end and thought there had to be more to life. They wanted that feeling of freedom and connection to live on.
A label to experience
The name was inspired by the wild paper daisies that grow across Australia without intervention. Known for their delightful displays, they are low maintenance and don’t take much to shine, be colourful and elicit joy. These everlasting daisies, native to Australia, flourish when they are together in large groups. Just as you thrive when you’re amongst like-minded people.
Combined with the rustic and versatile fibre that is twill. The modest and wholesome daisy is symbolic of where earthy meets effortless joy.
We noticed a strong correlation with our wines. Needing very little intervention, like the paper daisies that don’t need forced germination or pre-treatment because nature does a wonderful job by itself.
This natural approach is what Twill & Daisy adopt to bring you fresh wines for experiences you’ll cherish.
On the nose blasts of stone fruit and pear characters with hints of white flowers and chamomile; pretty and sweet.
This wine manages to be fruity and refreshing, rich and textured, all at once. The flavours are layers of melon, citrus rind, waxy honey and spice balanced by fresh acidity. It has weight and roundness in the mouth and the signature Fiano texture.
The aroma will remind you of peaches and sweet flowers, and its flavour includes fruity hints of pineapples and Rennet apples.
This sparkling wine has fine bubbles winding through its bright straw yellow colour and greenish reflections. Soft and fruity leading to a crisp acidity.
This wine displays a zesty fragrant nose of tropical fruits, passionfruit and gooseberry, along with a flinty, mineral edge. An engaging nose, that displays all the classical Sauvignon Blanc varietal markers with purity and focus.
The pallet follows on with distinct tropical fruit flavours, and intensely wound passion-fruit. A slight mid to end palate texture imparts a good feel, and gives rise to a mouth-watering finish full of length.
Rich aromas of plum, packed with dark berries with hints of deep herbal tones and spices.
The berries characters follow through to the palate, which is medium bodied, with savoury and subtle earthy flavours, and fine-grained tannins. This fun and crunchy Graciano Tempranillo blend will leave red berry fruit bursts in the mouth, along with jubie lolly characters and spice.
